We had THE MOST wonderful day at Beaver Dam yesterday. The people are so nice, and they have everything you need to go crabbing, or whatever else you may want to do. We were crabbing so we got there by 5:30 am, and got to see the sunrise, and had already caught some crabs by then. The marsh is so peaceful, full of birds, and there was a lot of action in the crabbing. We threw back all the females, and still managed to bring home at least 1/2/ bushel of nice sized crabs. We also caught several turtles, Diamond back Terrapins, and of course, threw them back, but they were fun to see, and hadn't expected to see them. The guys come out to check on you many times, and will take you back to the bathroom, or whatever you need. They were all so nice, the place was very clean, and I would highly recommend this boat rental to everyone. Overall, it was an A1 experience, and we will definitely go back there soon.

Called to ask for information for boat rental. It's a Sunday at noon and the lady that answered said "All the boats are out already and they come back at 3". No problem, so I asked if they send boats out after they return at 3. Her exact words were, "Uh no, that's what I'm saying, after the boats come in at 3 we don't send anymore out". Okay.... sorry I asked? She then says boats usually go out before 12 so I asked to confirm for next time that if I would like to reserve a boat, it should be for before 11-12. She scoffs and says "Well yeah? We open at 6?". I just hung up. I never went crabbing before and was hoping a local place like this would be a good place to try, guess not.
The owners and staff couldn't have been nicer! I was concerned about safety with my two boys, but the staff made everything so easy and provided everything that was needed. We caught over 4 dozen crabs in 3 hours!!! Will definitely go back!!
